Pickup Prohibited & Restricted List
Prohibited Items
Australia export, Australia import, New Zealand, Malaysia, international common — five lists. Check each one before booking, or the goods may be seized, destroyed or fined.
Two symbols first
Every item on this page is classified by two symbols:
- ☒ Prohibited — Pickup and every partner carrier (NZ Post / Aramex / FedEx / TNT / UPS / AusPost / Pos Laju / DHL) refuse these absolutely. Do not book the wrong category.
- ⚠ Restricted — shippable with extra declarations, additional documents or specific carriers. Confirm with support before booking.
This list evolves with customs and carrier policy. The booking-page prompts reflect live system rules at any given time.

Consequences
What happens if you ship a prohibited item
- ⚠ Seizure / destruction: customs seizes the goods outright, without notice or return
- ⚠ Fines: individual prohibited items can incur several thousand AUD; commercial concealment can lead to criminal charges
- ⚠ No freight refund: once the parcel is intercepted, freight is still charged — Pickup can’t recover it from the carrier
- ⚠ Return at your own cost: some lanes allow return to origin, but return freight is paid by the sender — usually equal to the outbound cost
- ⚠ Account restrictions: repeat offenders are blacklisted by the carrier, and Pickup will restrict future bookings
- ⚠ Legal liability: drugs, weapons, endangered species and similar items are criminal matters — cross-border cases may trigger multi-country investigation
Pickup is a logistics brokerage platform only — all declaration content is the sender’s responsibility. Any loss or legal consequence caused by false declaration is borne entirely by the sender.
